The wood is red brown with purplish shades and darkens when exposed to light. The texture is coarse with slight interlocked grain. The aspect resembles Sapele.

Perfect wood (Duramen) with a brow yellow to dark reddish brown colour, with golden glints. Slightly interlocked grain.

Aucumea klaineana
Natural colour: light salmon to dark pink, darkening when exposed to light. Fine to medium texture. Slightly interlocked to interlocked grain. Fine silver grain.
